About Us

Shortly after graduation from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1968, Dr. Damon G. Pleasant purchased a practice in Lexington on North Broadway. He practiced and expanded at this location through 1980. By 1981, he had outgrown the location and built a new building in Lexington just off Man O’ War and Alumni. In 2000, Dr. Pleasant changed the name from Pleasant Dentistry to Lexington Dental Center. The current location has been remodeled and expanded 3 times, and now features a 3500 square foot open concept office. We take pride in providing privacy, while not feeling closed off in a cramped room.

We continue to offer a complete array of services, including general dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, implantology, and more. We utilize cutting edge innovations in dentistry including digital x-rays and panoramic x-rays, and are a paperless office. Lexington Dental Center is a Preferred Provider for Delta Dental PPO and Premier, but will file insurance claims on your behalf for nearly any other insurance provider.

In 2011, Lexington Dental Center began working with the organization Dentistry From the Heart. For 3 consecutive years, we have given back to the local community that has been so good to us, by providing free dental care for those in need. In 2013, with the help of 14 dentists, 7 hygienists, and 42 volunteers, we provided 129 people with an estimated $116,270 of dental care! The 4th annual Lexington Dental Center Dentistry From the Heart event will be held on September 20, 2014.
